We actually see energy fields all the time without really being consciously aware of it. It is primarily the cones around the edges of the back of the eye which can (very dimly) perceive the particular frequencies of the aura. The mind has a tendency to edit out anything on the outer periphery of the vision field as irrelevant, especially if the rods in the centre fail to pick up on it. Because of our binocular vision it is the central zone that we are hardwired to give the greatest priority, at the expense of the peripheral field. Now the conscious mind may not pay any heed to these outer frequencies, but the subconscious mind very much does register them, and it constantly influences how we see the world and others around us.
There is evidence that subtle energies are perceivable. In one experiment, three human subjects were administered LSD and placed in a dark room in front of a couple of rapidly spinning horseshoe-shaped magnets. They then reported seeing faint blobs of white, yellow, green and purplish light. When the magnets stopped rotating or were removed, they reported no such light.
Other animals routinely detect the presence of magnetic fields to survive. Sharks, for example, have specialised sense receptors in their heads (known as Ampullae of Lorenzini) which are sensitive to the particular bio-magnetic fields given off by their prey. This sense is known as electroreception. Muscle contractions make the etheric fields of fish expand momentarily, sending out brief surges of electromagnetism which can be picked up. Electroreception may also serve as a kind of compass, allowing for navigation across the ocean floor by detecting changes in magnetic fields. Sharks often swim for great distances in straight lines which are aligned with the geomagnetic field lines of the Earth. They have even been known to take the odd snap at undersea communication cables, whose magnetic fields are presumably too tasty to resist.
Living cells can contain minute magnets in the form of nano-crystals, consisting of the ferromagnetic mineral magnetite. Human brain tissue has been found to contain trace elements of this mineral. In another experiment, subjects were placed in a Faraday cage in a darkened room while being wired up to an EEG machine which measures brain wave patterns. They then sat underneath an electromagnetic field which rotated both clockwise and counterclockwise. The subjects themselves were not told about the magnetic field – they were merely told to sit in a dark room for a while. Even though they didn’t notice anything consciously, their brainwave readings altered dramatically as the field shifted around them. Their systems responded at a cellular level. They showed the greatest reaction when the field pointed downward at 60 degrees as it rotated. This matches the natural orientation of the Earth’s magnetic field where the study took place in Pasadena, California. This suggests that a natural orientation with the Earth’s ambient field already exists within our brains. Our etheric fields are already ‘tuned’ into the natural etheric of the Earth. We react to these subtle energies around us without even realising it.
Have you ever ‘felt’ the energy of a room as soon as you entered it? How did the initial impression feel?
